I think everything carries a story.
A dog you've loved for fifteen years. A bird sitting somewhere it shouldn't be. An object you haven't thought about since childhood. A life that didn't turn out anything like you planned.
I'm Jillian, and I paint those things.
I've spent a lot of my life starting over, figuring things out and creating through the messier parts of being human.
Maybe that's why I'm drawn to the strange combination of grit and magic that seems to exist in almost everything.
Some of my paintings mean something.
Some are here because a pigeon made me laugh.
I think there's room for both.

The people who know a pet is never just a pet. The ones who see a little magic in animals, old things, strange coincidences and ordinary moments. The people who want something on their wall because it means something - not because it matches the couch.
It's for the sentimental ones.
The weird ones.
The resilient ones.
The ones still figuring it out.
The ones who know we don't get forever - so we might as well make it magic.
